Sims 3 Tearing Issue. [SOLVED]

Hey there,
It first started yesterday when playing Sims 3 when most of the objects on the screen were kind of scratched and torn apart. I searched the internet for a bit and found out that it's fixed by enabling 'vsync/vertical refresh' through your graphics card software. But the problem is NVIDIA's control panel which can't be opened. I found this solution http://www.geforce.com.tw/drivers/ (Updating Drivers) but I can't find my own driver which is Geforce 9400 GT.
Any help would be appreciated.

Don't want to get you worried, but I may not be around the next few days to reply if updating the drivers doesn't work.. however, with that said, screen tearing is one of the first indications that a graphics card is starting to die so it may be time for an upgrade. Again, wouldn't worry about it until after you try the driver with vsync. I just went through this myself. Scared to death that my video card was on its death bed, but getting away from the Microsoft driver and into the ATI driver fixed it [forgot to install after my last format lol].

OK, it's still downloading but after it's finished, what do i do? Should I delete my drivers and then install this?

Just install it, everything should be alright.

If possible, choose "Custom" and "Clean installation" during the installation wizard. Don't forget to restart your PC after installation.

Sorry Admin but I've already installed the update and chose the recommended option. But I updated it and opened NVIDIA's control panel, enabled vsync/vertical refresh for Sims 3 and I haven't faced any tearings since. Let's hope I won't face it again. Anyway, thank you all for your help. You've done me a great favor.
