Problem with Pets startup

Hi,

I have Late Night, Ambitions and Master Suite Stuff installed with the Ultimate Fix and they've worked fine up until now. I downloaded Pets tonight (from the games4theworld torrent) and installed it and I applied the ultimate fix again. However when I try and open up the game it goes directly to a black screen and the mouse turns into 'waiting mouse' (to use the technical term, lol. if you have vista or 7 you'd know at as the little turny blue wheel). i check in task manager and it confirms that it's stopped responding. i've tried getting rid of custom content, clearing out registry entries, disabling my internet and vuse but nothing seems to work. i've just tried the data execution prevention fix that needs you to restart your computer but i'm super tired and so won't be able to test that until i turn my computer on in the morning (although i don't think that's the problem). i'm pretty sure that my game is patched to the latest edition as i installed the manual patch less than two weeks ago but i could double-check if you'd like. any ideas?

What about Mods and Custom Content, do you have any?

I had already gotten rid of my Mods folder but I just moved everything out of my downloads folder, too. but nothing is happening should i try re-installing?

I just tried that and I will check the results in just a moment. However, I think I've just found the problem. When I open the launcher, it insists that my game version is 10.0.96.017001 even though when I try and run the manual patch it says that it is already up to date. I will mess around with it for a while and try to get it to install and get back to you if it works.

Unfortunately it still isn't working after clearing the cache. however, i
did have an issue with uninstalling my sims3packs where the launcher
just crashed. i'm thinking about just uninstalling pets and forgetting
about it.

And have you tried playing without the launcher?

Yep, I never ever play with the launcher
I think it's best if I give up on Pets, at the moment I'm just going to uninstall and re-install all of my games minus Pets and hope that they start to work again.

Try only uninstalling Pets for now, don't reinstall everything else.
