Game won't work

So i followed all the steps on downloading the game, i installed all the new patches and what not, and i even put the cracks in the right places. At first the game would show me "unkown error occurred". so i downloaded the mac fix. but nothing happened. Now the game won't even start up. every time i try to open the game, the icon shows up on my screen but then vanishes. I'm in need of help. =[

i used crossover to download it and install it. would that also be giving it a problem?

Crossover? Hmmm... there's no need to do that, as far as I know.
Wait a second, are you trying to install the base game or the expansions?
And where did you get the download(s) from?

i downloaded the base game and the expansion packs, i got it from piratebay.org.
i'm not sure why, but my computer made me use crossover to install the games correctly. i have two different installs in my mac; the pc version, which i used crossover, and the normal mac one.

Hello,
For the base game, don't use our version, that one doesn't work.
As for the expansions, our expansions work fine on a Mac, although you need to extract the .rar file using Stuffit Expander and then create a .DMG file out of the extracted files, using the Mac integrated Image Creator, something like that.
Don't use Crossover at all.
Re-try using this method and let us know the result, please.

i have a feeling i have to uninstall the games and reinstall them all over again. =/

Hello,
We'll help you figure it out, don't worry.
Start by getting a different version of the base game though, RELOADED will do. After that's installed, start on page 5 of this guide to see how the expansions are installed. The guide is outdated, but everything from page 5 onward still applies.
