EP upto showtime installed, was working fine upto an hour ago - now crashes on loading screen!!?[SOLVED]

Hi,

I have all the EPs upto showtime installed, with all cracks etc etc, been working fine for months with custom content downloaded from the exchange. Recently though it has randomly started being buggy (i think since the update) like i cant enter buy mode, kids wont go to afterschool classes etc but the problems are trivial so I havent tried to fix them. Today I was playing as normal and as I tried to move one of my new sims into a new home via the phone (to a cc downloaded lot that i got today) sims froze. I exited thinking it was a one off but then it wouldnt get past the 'showtime' screen when i tried to load it again - the bar seemed to load very quickly then freeze at 100% (music stops but cursor keeps rolling). I have redone all the cracks and gone through every fix i can find on this site, including sorting out the DEPs. The only thing that seems to work is moving the My documents/ea/sims3 folder to my desktop - then the game loads fine! (even though at an odd resolution) i tried to add in custom content one by one but even one piece causes it not to load, even if its a piece ive had installed for ages working fine!!! Obviously its great the game works, so thankyou but is there anyway I can salvage some of my saved games/custom content? Or do i effectively have to start from scratch thanks in advance.

how do i know if it is a sims3pack or packages? it was free downloads from the exchange. trying delphys dashboard now..

when i start up the game it also comes up with 'you have installed
unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of
sims 3 etc' and i have to click continue, but i have already applied
the cracks and ultimate fixes i have deleted all the packages that showed conflict or corrupt, about to try again now

i just tryed to load the game without any cc or saved games and it wont even do that now still crashes at the showtime load screen!

yep done all that now, no use. my game is fully up to date but it wouldnt let me copy anything into the programfiles/ea/sims3/game/bin (as i have to do in steps 1 and 10-13 of the ultimate fix) - saying i am denied access even when i click 'allow access' on the step before, and have also been allowed to copy into all the other expansion folders! (steps 2-9) i have never had this problem before so may be something to do with it?

ps sorry, i didnt know about the edit feature!

definetely! i only have one log on i always use!! no doubt about that, never had that problem before..

Also, be sure the launcher is completely closed, also from the system tray.

ill be online all day tomorrow so hopefully then. some developments: i downloaded and installed sweet treats and diesel packs and applied cracks - tested and works fine with no cc. just about to try again having downloaded one lot from the exchange and see what happens. i think its do with with cc but not a corrupt piece just any item seems to crash the game! thanks

If any of your .Sims3Pack CC is pre-pets expansion that can cause graphical issues as well as game crashing with some larger CC pieces , like build items. EA changed the rig structure for CC with Pets, newer CC and most patterns and textures are rig free compared to older CC. TSR wrote a program that fixes these items so they can still be used in game.

actually ive downloaded some CC and been playing the game fine! maybe installing the 2 newest expansions fixed it! im gonna do another quick run now but i think its okay! woohoooo
