Followed Ultimate Fix but still not able to run game
Hello there,
I have read and read and read every forum in here and followed all the steps for patching and updating the game without success.
Here's what Ive done:
-Installed base game
-Installed Master Suite Stuff and Town Life Stuff
-Copied both files from Base game folder from Ultimate Fix into C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
-Copied both files from Diesel Stuff & Katy Perry Sweet Treats & Showtime & Master Suite Stuff & Pets & Town Life Stuff & Generations from Ultimate Fix into C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
-Used Manual Patch to get game up to date (Version 1.36.45)
-Copied both files from #Crack folder into C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
Then when I click on the Launcher, I get the startup error and it shuts down
Then when I click on TS3W, I get the Service Initialization Failure error (0x0175dcbb)
I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, restarted my system, and am not using any mods or ccs.
PLEASE HELP!!

Hello,
You say you uninstalled and reinstalled several times and restarted your system, but did you restart after uninstalling before reinstalling?
This is a registry error that occurs if you didn't.
Other than that you did everything right so if my assumption is right, your solution is to uninstall everything, restart the pc and then do everything exactly the way you did before and it should work just fine.

How come? I've fixed this error a lot of times by just re-doing these steps: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
I'm pretty sure.

Hello,
Sure that is the correct way to install but if the game was uninstalled, the pc should still be restarted before reinstalling right?

Restarting helps clear the memory buffers if you have less than 2 GB of RAM on-board, anything over 2 GB of RAM means that the memory buffer never really "fills up" so it is not necessary to re-start after a program un-install. That being said, MS does recommend restarting after any install/un-install.

Re: Followed Ultimate Fix but still not able to run game
Well I havent tried it that way but I dont think thats the problem. Here's what Ive discovered since my original posting:
When I use the files from the Base Game folders and have them in the BIN folder, the Sims Launcher opens just fine. I still cant play the game due to the Service failure error but the Launcher does open. At the bottom of the screen of the launcher where it shows the icons of what games you have installed, mine shows nothing. None of the icons are lite up like they are supposed to be. I have installed all 3 games mentioned previously and showed them to you in my BIN folder. However, for some reason its not showing that they are even installed in the Launcher. Heard of that issue before? Solution?

Re: Followed Ultimate Fix but still not able to run game
That is a different problem for sure.
Lets walk you through getting the Sims un-installed and re-installed successfully.
First uninstall all the Sims3 games on your system. If you have a good uninstall manager then use it instead of windows program manager.
Restart your system to clear the memory buffers.
Now lets run a good cleaning program. If you dont already have one I always recommend CCleaner. The free version works perfectly fine for the average home user and can be found HERE
Once you've finished running the cleaner, restart again.
Now you can start installing the Sims3. I usually install them this way; Sims3 Base Game - Manual Update - EPs and SPs - The Ultimate Fix
Now, after you've got the game installed, updated and patched... restart one more time.
This should resolve the problem. If it doesn't let us know and we'll go from there.

Hello,
Well, that is news to me. I've never heard anything else than "make sure to restart your pc before you reinstall".
Still with a game like The Sims you can never be too sure. It's a pain to uninstall and reinstall and has its shares of problems. Restarting doesn't take a lot of effort.

Yes, that's correct, but I mean I did fix that error in different ways too. Not by reinstalling everything.
That's also correct, but the reason you have to restart after the uninstallation of a game or program is - it does clear the RAM too, yes - because it (should) removed all leftover files, including the Registry and leftover folders that are, for example, in use by Windows and can not be removed when the OS is running.Dracos66 wrote:Lady ElDi wrote:Admin wrote:Hello,Lady ElDi wrote:Hello,

Hello,
So in the end we're all right lol.
I was just going by the topic starter's description of what she did and it looked ok to me, except that there was no mention of restarting the pc after uninstallation.
