sims 3 ultimate fix & game modification error (game freezes)

I have installed/uninstalled my Sims 3 base game and expansion packs several times now, because I can't get the ultimate fix working.

the expansions i have: pets, late night, generations, town life stuff, ambitions


What I have tried:

Step 1. Installing the base game and expansion packs

Step 2. Using the ultimate fix steps 1-10 for the packs and base game that I have, including making sure to put files for generations, town life and pets into sims 3/game/bin not the game bin of their expansion folders.

Step 3. Updating the game manually to 1.50.

Step 5. Making sure the download manager/any sims programs are closed

Step 6. Placing the crack in sims 3/game/bin


"Cannot connect to Origin", which is OK I think since I didn't install Origin.

Then when I try to load the game, says that I have used a game modification and freezes/doesn't load.


Note: when installing pets, town life and ambitions, i was forced to update in order to use the setup.
i also downloaded the EA download manager with the game. i'm not sure if this was a mistake or not.



but this will be my now 6th try reinstalling all versions and reapplying the crack/fix...

Please someone help me figure out where I'm going wrong
