Sims 1 Collection Won't Start!

Hello, I downloaded the Sims 1 Complete Collection from here and I've installed it using the exact directions from the installation guide and also from the video. But both times I tried to start it up, a black screen comes up for a few seconds and then it goes back to the desktop without any kind of error message. I don't know what to do. I've tried running it as admin, I've tried changing the compatibility and nothing seems to work. Please help!!

NOTE: I should probably say that both times I tried installing it, it never asked me to register. I don't know if that would make a difference, but I just figured I should note it.

Try changing the compatibility mode to "Windows 2000".

I don't know, maybe my computer just doesn't like this game. >_<

Try Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, just to be sure.

Odd, usually the "Run as admin" does the trick.

Not sure if this has been figure out yet, but I have the same problem. Tried everything I know of.

Edit: Just attempted a clean reinstall, the register prompt came up, but I still have the same problem trying to play. Nothing else has changed other than the register thing popping up.
