Sims 3 1.36 crashes

I installed Sims 3, Sims 3 Ambitions, Sims 3 World Adventures, Fast Lane Stuff & Town Life Stuff and it works and it's great the first 30 minutes but after that it crashes and I have to restart my PC. What should I do? Thank you very much

Do you have any Mods or Custom Content?

I've been having the same problem ever since I updated my game to 1.36, and I have contacted EA about it, and this is what they had to say (This is the exact E-mail from them, I just took out the specialists name for their privacy.)

"I apologize for the delay in our response time on this issue.

The vast majorty of these issues are caused by using custom content or Mods, we do not support either because they cause this exact issue.

The forums on thesims3.com have a list of most of the known bad content that will crash the game.

We also see quite a few people who do not meet the minimum system requirements, which can also cause this issue and can possibly do physical damage to the machine with extended usage.


Please open the game and go to the launcher.
Click on "Installed Content" on the launcher, and then place a check in the box for "Run with out custom content", a warning box will pop up, click on yes.

If that fails to resolve the issue I am including some instructions on how to create and attach a DXDIAG. Please follow the instructions.

Once we have the DXDIAG we can take a much more indepth look at the issue.


How to attach a file to your EA Help ticket:

1.Log in to the Customer Portal at help.ea.com.
2.Locate the open case underneath "CONTACT US" in the "MY CASES" section.
(Do not open the case from within "CONTACT US")
3.Open the current case you wish to attach a file to.
4.Scroll down to "BROWSE FILE."
5.Choose the file you wish to attach and select "Open."
6.Be sure to write a note in the white box above the Browse File and Add Note buttons.
7.Click "Add Note" to attach this file successfully.

I have had many problems with The Sims 3 even before this update. After following their instructions, it still crashes. I have even uninstalled my game and re-installed it without custom content and the 1.36 update, and my game still crashes after 15-30 minutes. It has given my computer problems, and it now runs extremely slow. (BTW, I do meet the system requirements and I have never used a mod for the game.) I have sent EA a not-so-nice Email back after this, it's been a little over a week and still no response.

And then where is the f****** warning for that on the custom content page? I really would've appreciated a warning before-hand to save myself from damaging my computer. But, hey, EA made their money, so what else matters right?
