Loading Town Crash.[SOLVED]
Hello,
My game crashes when trying to load any of the towns.
I have installed The Sims 3 with all current expansion packs and stuff packs from games4theworld.com.
I followed all steps and did the ultimate fix listed here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
I also followed all steps listed here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-10-01-2012
Unfortunately this did not solve my problem.
I am using windows 7 with NO mods or cc.
I also tried removing the sims folder from documents without luck.
The game starts, but looks very funny on the initial loading screen. It is just black, and when it tries to scroll words on the bottom they just blur together.
Also, when the initial game menu loads, there are many missing parts such as no words on the buttons.
I try loading a town and it gets 1/5 the way through and crashes every time.
I would be happy to post screen shots of that would be helpful.
Thanks,

Try rebooting your computer and then launching the game. Also make sure you dont have a lot of other programs running in the background.
You may want to use Game Booster to help stop unnecessary programs and applications from running while you are playing to free up more memory. You can find it HERE

I tried running the game booster and it crashed in the exact same spot.
I don't think its a memory issue. My computer has 6gb of ram.

Which town are you trying to load?
A trick you can try is to run the game as administrator. TO do so, right-click on the shortcut and select Properties, click on the compatibility tab and check Run as Administrator, then click OK

Hello,
What irks me most is the missing text and buttons. It looks like a corrupt game.
What you can try first is to use the manual patch, even if you're already at that patch level and even if you used it before.
Also, which language did you specify when you installed?

SOLUTION
I found that it was a matter of installation. I changed the order that I installed the games and it fixed everything.
DO NOT install the games in chronological order as world adventure will not install correctly as the first expansion pack.
Here is how I installed TS3:
1. install the sims base game
2. install one of the newer expansion packs (Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations) i did diesel.
3. install patch and feel free to add the ultimate fix
4. install any other expansions or stuff packs you need
5. play
I also like the idea of using the game booster especially if i am playing for long periods of time.
Thx for all the help and ideas.
