new windows and new save game

I have 2 easy Questions.

1. i installed sims 3 with 1 expansion, downloading more. my question is if i reinstall windows or somehow my windows get corrupted. will i be able to open sims 3 launcher and play? i dont care about save games. and i installed sims 3 in other folders where i did not installed window. i format drive then install windows. will i be able to play sims 3 in new windows without having it reinstalled ? i am using windows xp. i am not planning to reinstall windows. asking incase my windows get corrupts.

2. My 2nd question is, i have a save game in sims 3 if i delete my savegame and start newgame.will my previous saved sims will be removed from the neighbourhood too? or i will just unable to play with them after i delete the save file.

Hello,

If you ever have to reinstall windows, you'll have to reinstall all your software as well since the registry entries will be gone and your software won't work. Including The Sims. It's best not to delete the RAR's in case you ever have to reinstall for whatever reason.

Your sims are present in your current save game. You could save them to the bin before starting a new game and place the family in your new game from the bin. but they won't be there if you don't.

Another way to keep your town how it is, and still start a new family is, load up your game, go into edit town mode; it's in the menu that has save/quit/options, and everything else on it; and make a new family. Once you've done that, place that family in town, select them, and choose to switch families. Then your town will be the exact same place, but you'll be controlling another family.

1. so is there not any other way to run .exe of a game without launcher. most games do run after new windows like Rockstar games or Bethesda i recently ran skyrim after new windows. my only save games and registries will be removed i know i wont be able to add content or install any other expansion pack if my registry is deleted. but what if i wan to run game as it is? are there no tricks to do that?

No, I'm afraid not. I doubt most other games would run after a format C:. I've certainly never been able to. The game simply won't start.

Can we Customize our sims after we created them ? i mean the clothes watches sunglasses and i am a vampire now. i was a normal sim, i asked some other vampires to turn me now i look like a normal human..i want gray skin and red eyes :S can i do it ? wardrobes only have options of types of clothes i already chose

You can't change your eye/skin color once you're out of create-a-sim, unless you go back in, using the "testingcheatsenabled" cheat and shift-clicking on your sim. However, messing with sims like that has been know to cause crashing, so I would be very careful with that, and definitely don't change their age or gender that way.

If you just want to change their clothes, the dressers should have an option of "plan outfit" and that's how to change their outfits.

Well you can do quite a bit that you can do in Create-A-Sim outside, just requires more work. To name a few, Hospital for plastic surgery, and Town Hall to change name.
