Supernatural patch = launcher issues. [SOLVED]

So I've downloaded the supernatural ep and went about installing it. Prior to supernatural I have every other ep/sp (excluding World adventures & showtime) and they all worked fine with the crack. during the installation of supernatural, I assumed there would be new updates, so I replaced the sims3 base bin folder with the original so I wouldn't have any of that "files modified won't work" crap. Sure enough, when I went to install supernatural it said my game was outdated/needed to be updated. Fine. so I started the launcher and the new patch seemed to be downloading fine, however, after it appeared to be finished and was reloading the launcher, it wouldn't load up. all I get is the standard green plumbob on my dash and nothing happens.
I close it, thinking that the new installation might fix it. so I installed supernatural.
Supernatural installed fine and said it was successful. But still, my launcher fails to load at all.
I tried bypassing it but that won't work either, same result.

I also tried the sims uninstaller just to see if anything weird was happening there and when I go to open it it says That it can't be opened because my game may be damaged or incomplete?
I thought maybe the patch didn't install correctly, but the fact supernatural installed at all must mean it did?

it's doing my head in.

I tried replacing all modified files with their original versions & even deleting the mods folder.
same issue.
I also dl'd and applied the manual patch to my base game incase it was that the patch didn't install correctly.
I haven't received any 'error' messages (besides the one that comes p when I try to open the uninstaller), it just.. simply won't open.

I really believe it is the patch. Because all this began as soon as it was installed.
Unless there are other suggestions, the only thing I can think to do in uninstall completely and reinstall from scratch. (so much reinstalling... *siiiigh*)

May I ask where you got the base game from?

I bought the base game from the shops. it's not one of the special edition ones or something either.
Some of the eps I have are also retail versions (ambitions, late night).

all of my retail are physical versions from the shops.
HOWEVER, I did end up getting impatient and just wiping my sims from my computer & reinstalling (I backed up my downloads/mods though... definitely saved a lot of time haha)

&. Long story short, it works now.
the only problem I encountered along the way was that when the laucnher came up it only showed that I had installed sims games up to the town life sp, so when I went to play, it asked for the town life cd (when I had actually installed all the packs I want including supernatural). I ended up installing the sweet treats sp to see if it would bring it up to speed. Which it did, and after that it asked for the supernatural cd. So then it was just a matter of applying the cracks to the base game.
Works fine now. I'm no longer having any of the issues I described earlier.

maybe something went weird when it was patching or maybe I did do something weird to the folders and just didn't realise...
