Sims 3 crashes since Supernatural

hello.

I have installed Supernatural and the whole Sims 3 thanks to you (by the way thank you all for the work).

I followed the Fix instructions and use the NoCD crack you provide.

In anycase it worked just fine for a few days but since then i keep crashing when trying to play with my save again. It does load but after a few seconds i get the windows prompt that the program malfunctioned.

I tried every fix you proposed on the forum without success. The only thing i haven't done is reinstalling the whole game. So if you have another idea to help me please.

I had woohooer from nraas, but as i said i tried every methods given on the forum so i obviously removed it

if it is of help, the crash seems to occur a few seconds after one of my
sims get notification of her royalties as a writer... but i tried to
have her stop writing and only opening the menu by clicking on an item
also trigger the crash.

I really crashes only a few seconds right after the save is loaded

Hello,

Try backing up and completely removing the following folder: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\

I had read about it in the other threads and i tried it. the game launches.

I tried first to copy the saved game back in the new folder and launch it again. the save loaded and then the game crashed in matter of seconds again.

I tried with an old save i knew was working fine before supernatural with the same result.

I tried creating a new world. and as long as i'm not into the world itself it seems to work fine, but as soon as i'm in world (on pause or not) the game crashes in matter of minutes or seconds.

the thing i don't understand is that it worked fine for some 3 to 4 days. Since then it kept crashing.

And the windows prompt about the crash doesn't help, all i get is "the program malfunctioned and windows is searching for solution" then it simply close the game and nothing more. no information as to what kind of error or anything asside from the report i copied in my first message

I have Reinstalled the game. Now only the one save i want to play makes
the game crash. I fear it is corrupted and i'll have to restart and see

Try the backup of it?

I don't know how to do it, so will have to wait for someone with more experience.

Hello,

Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves , does one or more of your saves (Open their folder first) have a .backup extension?

yes but the timecode on it is the same as the main save file.

Hello,

Please backup and remove the one without the ".backup" first. You should now only have the one with the .backup extension.
Edit the filename and remove the .backup extension. Now test the game, please.

after verification the bugged save doesn't have one with a .backup extension. It might be the reason it crashed... I'll try another game and see how it goes will keep you updated if i encounter the problem again with the new save
