Sims 3 Problem
Ok so I have Sims 3 Ambitions and Diesel stuff along with Sunlit Tides and Hidden Springs
I was playing normally in Hidden Springs and my Sim was reading a Logic book. Suddenly when he finished, he was frozen and couldn't move. He had a pose as if he was reading but wasn't. I played a new game but this time he froze when he finished cooking. I did fast forward and for a few Sim hours, he was in the same condition

Re: Sims 3 Problem
Do the "resetsim "First Name" "Last Name"" without " sembols. for example my sim's name is Alexia Bruno. resetsim Alexia Bruno . This helps your problem

Odd... Have you checked if the book is in the Sim's inventory? If so, try taking it out.

Re: Sims 3 Problem
Your game is Mucho messed up. Any funky mods? Do your other Sims have the same problem? Try running without any CC and see if it helps. If nothing like that works, reinstall. It might be your save file.... In which case, I hope your backup isn't messed up too.

Re: Sims 3 Problem
Just need to move the folder to the desktop. Will save the files and such, or could just do a copy to the desktop, and delete it where it was at. But just moving is enough.

Re: Sims 3 Problem
SO basically I move Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 to the desktop and delete it and my problem should be solved? Okt2sink wrote:Just need to move the folder to the desktop. EDIT
I did as you asked and the problem still exists!

*facepalm* The entire point is that when you delete it, you back it up first. Either you copy it to somewhere then delete the original, OR you move it outright. All of your userdata is stored there, including your saves and options and whatnot. Don't delete it. Period. Just move it to somewhere else, or rename the folder.

Re: Sims 3 Problem
Do you have it on your desktop, or did you actually delete the one that was there?
If you did, try to get it from the recycle bin, unless you already cleared it.
Also, so there was no Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder in that location when you start The Sims 3, and tried to see if the problem existed, so you lack any families you made?

Re: Sims 3 Problem
Ok so here's my situation. I have the folder in my desktop, but when I start the sims, it reappears in my documents file. And now it's telling me I have an illegal copy of the game.t2sink wrote:Do you have it on your desktop, or did you actually delete the one that was there?

I uninstalled then reinstalled the game and this time I did NOT put in the two neighbourhoods. Still experiencing the same problem

Re: Sims 3 Problem
Hmmm... Weird. I have never come across the illegal thing. Are you sure you have the G4TW version of the game? If so, are you using the right crack? The folder reappears in the documents folder every time you start it up. It's normal. The reason you remove it is so it will have to regenerate it.

Yes I only use G4TW world downloads. It's the only one I can trustleviathan1993 wrote:Hmmm... Weird. I have never come across the illegal thing. Are you sure you have the G4TW version of the game? Re: Sims 3 Problem
Yeah, weird I'm not sure. Will probably need a one-on-one session with someone who knows what they are doing, like Admin, unless someone can say a way to correct your issue now.
Yeah, Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 is only used to save data, so moving it, won't matter with loading the game. Just re-made each time the game loads since it needs to perform saves and such.

Re: Sims 3 Problem
I hope you don't come back to this thread! You better be too busy playing the Sims I hope Admin can help you sort things out. One last bit of advice: use CCleaner when you inevitably reinstall. It will clean out the crap that the Sims leaves in your registry. It might help with the "illegal" thingy. CCleaner is free, and you should be able to get it quickly by Googling "crap cleaner." I use it all the time!
Edit: make sure you download it from piriform, as they are the makers. I just googled, and I'm not sure if the top one (cnet) is the most up-to-date edition.

Re: Sims 3 Problem
Thanks. Didn't know they owned the domain xD I love CCleaner. Best free cleaning software I've seen yet. Helped big-time when I was having issues with software retaining information on their trial versions after reinstalling them xD
