You deleted them out of your package folder? That should have removed them

Deleting the files in your DCCache basically removes every item installed through the launcher in your game. You might want to make a back up of the files though in case there isn't a way of getting the stuff you do want back. But if you still have the Sim3packs of the stuff that you do want to keep, you can just reinstall those and you'll know for sure the ones you didn't want anymore are gone.

For moving CC perfectly from the game you need to delete the files in the DCBackup, however it isn't easy to see which is which, since the names isn't the same as the download.
So I guess you have to delete it all and re-install the CC that you want.
However I'm not sure, but I do think there is a program somewhere, that allows you to see the specific files and what it is.
You'll have to wait for someone with a better knowlegde and understandig of this than me to reply.

CC magic helps you organize your sims3packs and package files. There is also a thumbnail for each item (mostly) so you can see which item is which. Deleting the stuff from the DCbackup will not get rid of the installed content. The DCCache folder is where the actual downloads are stored. That's what you need to delete if you want to get rid of all content installed via the launcher.

Hello,
Another alternative is to use Mastercontroller to show the CAS collection in compact form. That means only one variation of an outfit is shown instead of a number of different colours. That could also keep your CAS screen from crashing.
