Sims 3 update

Hello,
I am having problems updating my Sims 3 to the latest version. I don't know if I have your Sims three bundle. Mine was called The Sims 3 Ultimate Bundle. This is what the file name is called in the program files too. I followed the instructions and copied the files and replaced the old ones in my folders. However, when I try to open the launcher it cannot connect to the EA Manager to update. I tried the manual update download and it is telling me I don't even have Sims 3 to update and it won't work. I want to update it so I can install the Sims 3 pets you have available. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Hello,
It sounds very much like it's a modified installer. If it is, I'm afraid you won't be able to update or install more expansions.
The only solution is to download the base game and expansion/stuff packs unmodified installers.
