well the title pretty much asks itself.

i never get the opportunity to save my game, it just randomly shuts my computer off.

what is the reason behind this? did I install the game incorrectly?

This may be a graphics card compatibility issue. What are your system specs?
Graphics card type, Operating system, 64 or 32 bit?

windows 7, 64 bit, and I believe AMD radeon or vision. this started happening after i uninstalled pets and just played with my other expansion packs downloaded here (i have everything except pets and fast lane SP)

I tried the game booster, the same thing happened. I never had this problem before I installed sims 3 pets. Would I have to start everything from scratch and reinstall?
