CAS Crash, fixes aren't working?
Hi! Firstly, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to play Sims 3. I purchased it years ago but lost it's serial code- pirating it had to be.
Oh man, I've been trying my best to work The Sims 3 here.
I downloaded the base game, Supernatural and Pets from you guys and that's all to begin with. I haven't downloaded any more. There are no mods. I followed with great caution, attention and detail the instructions to install it with the updated fix.
It loads fine and everything, it looks great. But after a few minutes in Create-A-Sim, it pauses.
I've tried to play in and out of window mode- but after a few minutes, it stops working. Like any other program that fails to respond, the program window gets white and I'm confronted with the message that it has stopped responding.
I run on Windows 7. This is a new laptop, which exceeds the base requirements. I've given it more RAM usage, I've set the instructions of the DEP very specifically to the instructions given; my game is playing at it's lowest possible settings. I've backed up and deleted the EA folders from My Documents too.
I've read the threads for the freeze and crash fixes- none of them seem to be working.
What do I do?

Yes- I did everything including changing the DEP, adding more RAM, et cetera. To no avail!
What should I do now?
EDIT: Here's what's happening:

What is your base game version? It can be found by hovering over the base game icon on your launcher. Also, are you using the fix, or a crack that came with the downloads?

Maybe you need to re-install and re-apply all cracks...
You must need Ambitions installed, I think, for it to work.

No, Ambitions isn't required at all for the crack from the fix to work. And re-installing and everything is a last resort, because it takes so long, and doesn't always fix much, if anything, that removing the folder from "Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3" doesn't do.

My base game is apparently: 1.42.130.019.017. I've used the manual patch to update it as mentioned in the instructions.
I'm using the fix. But when installing Supernatural and pets (I've reinstalled twice now, just using supernatural because I've heard pets causes problems) I still get asked for a serial code. I found the codes in the instructions, and used them through sheer lack of any other alternative.
Perhaps I'm doing some ridiculously fickle thing wrong like that! Oh gosh. Perhaps an instructional video is required for people who simply try their best but don't succeed. XD

Re: CAS Crash, fixes aren't working?
Guys, I've reinstalled over three times now.
The third time over, I decided not to use supernatural and change to master suite stuff as the necessary add-on, in case it was Supernatural making the problem. It still stops responding ten minutes into Create a Sim.
I've followed the instructions correctly. Maybe I'm missing some tiny, minor detail? I've tried so hard oh my gosh pfft.
I don't know, maybe a ridiculously detailed video on installation is a good idea. I don't know what the problem is...

None at all. I figured I'd make sure it worked before installing any custom content.
