Followed instructions multiple times & don't know where Im going wrong! PLZ help!

I have tried installing the sims 3 and the expansions MULTIPLE times. I've followed instructions carefully, i just dont get it. I have the Sims 3 and pets through origin. Here are the steps I did last time i installed:

1) installed base game. 2) installed expansions by order (although I'd have to update after almost each one or I couldn't install, by the time it was done itd already be patched fully.) 3) apply crack to base game.

I read on this site someone does it this way.

1) Install base game 2) manual patch to 1.42 3) Install all expansions by order 4) Apply ultimate fix. 5) play My question about that way though is when doing #4 and applying the fix, do you start by cracking each expansion pack by order, and then lastly crack the base game? Or are they just cracking the base game and not the expansions? Usually I'm good with computers but apparently this is flying eight over my head! The problem ice been getting is it crashing to desktop and saying its not responding. Almost every 10 minutes in. I have a Dell Inspiron 5520 and Windows 7. It has a 8 gb hard drive and 1 TB of ram. Where am I going wrong? I'd really appreciate some detailed instructions.

Btw. Adding the dep didn't help, and neither did removing the mods ans custom content.

I would have 3) read more like this "Install any expansion in any order, ignore #Crack Folders and the #Installation Guide besides for the serial code."

8 GB Hard drive and 1 TB of ram, you mean it the other way? 8 GB Ram, and 1 TB harddrive.

Haha yes meant it the other way! And I did read that and try those solutions but still got the same problems. So it doesn't matter what order you install the expansions in? And even though you would ignore those cracks, would you still when applying the ultimate fix apply each crack to each expansion?

Apply the Ultimate Fix for everything you have installed.

So basically what I should do differently is do the manual update after installing the base game, rather than following the prompted updates?

It saves time doing the Manual Patch, or just doing the latest expansion and being prompted to update then.
