Hi RosinNisse,
Try downloading and installing The Sims 3 Generations and higher. Or Apply the Crack and use that instead!

You need an expansion as specified in this thread.

Nope, you can always add Expansions, and a first time install on a system normally doesn't run into problems, only if you did delete one prior to it, and try to install another one.
