Manual patch wont update, and ulimate fix wont download

Hi !

I have read through "Must read how to install the sims 3 corectly". I have downloaded it once on google chrome and it didnt work so i uninstalled it and did it again using internet explorer and i get the same error box the says: "The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate."

The ultimate fix wont download at all. When i try to drag and drop the file into my torrent downloader and error box pops up and says its to big to be a torrent. I cant open it or do anything with it. Please help me ive been trying to figure all this stuff for 2 days and nothing is working ):

Sorry for the late reply!
The Ultimate Fix is in .rar format, which you should open using WinRAR (It's not a torrent, so you can't download it via your Bittorrent client!)

As for the manual patch, try reinstalling your base game as follows:

*Backup your savegames!

1. Completely uninstall the base game using Your Uninstaller! Pro, which you can download from www.games4theworld.org . Use the "Super" mode.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall the base game, following these instructions: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly (DO NOT skip any steps and RE-DOWNLOAD the manual patch AND the Ultimate Fix!)
4. Test the game and let us know the result.

When i try to download the patch, it gives me an error box that says:
"SetupNew/Setupp.cpp (140)

ok well the patch downloaded but when i wen to go click on it to update it the same error message came up saying "The installed version of the application couldn't be determined. the setup will now terminate." This time downloading the patch i used mozilla firefox. Should i repeat the whole process again?

it says i have version 1.38.151.018001, but what i did do is install the base game with a cd because i have 2. Should i just uninstall it and reinstall it using a torrent base game?

i dont understand how i didnt? i installed the sims all the expansions i wanted, and then i downloaded the patch, tried to apply it and it wouldnt work

Someone else (I think it was someone else) just posted a screenshot with this error. They looked like they were trying to run the setup executables from within the .rar file instead of extracting them. Are you extracting the files before trying to run the setup executables or are you running it from within the rar?

no im just double clicking on it, how do you extract the files

Right click the file, then depending on which compression suite you're using point at it (ie: WinRAR/7zip/etc) then click on the verbiage similar to "extract to..." and select a spot for the files to land. Then you will need to go into that folder and double click the executable.

Download only from the link provided there! Please re-download again using a different browser. For example Internet Explorer and DO NOT use any download managers or interrupt the download during the download process. (Pausing the download etc.)
