Keeping old saved games
Right, I have installed all of the games for myself, and now my girlfriend is quite jealous (as has bought WA and LN).
She wants all these expansions now! She has saved games, she isn't too fussed about keeping her saved game, but she would like to if its possible.
So question is, is it possible to keep her saved games and install all these torrents, then put the saved families back in?
Any help is appreciate.
Thanks
Ryan

Yes, it is. Open up "My Documents" and navigate into "Electronic Arts" - in there you'll find a folder called "The Sims 3". Just copy it to a safe location, though installing the expansions shouldn't bother the save games

I'd copy them to a safe location, install the expansions then go in-game to see if you need to copy them back. I'm fairly sure you don't have to. A lot of people would've been pretty mad if they lost their save games when they installed seasons recently - some have been working on their game for years
If you find that you have to copy the saves back, you just copy the folder back into your My Documents\Electronic Arts\ folder.

Sorry I may have worded the OP wrong, she wants to install it all as a fresh so she can get everything, so she will be uninstalling the legit copy and replacing it with the cracked copy, this is due to me knowing what to do when installing it instead of fighting with installing stuff packs out of sync with the series.

I don't believe uninstalling will remove the saved games, though if I'm honest I'd say I haven't uninstalled so I don't know for sure. Either way, it's the same process. Copy the "The Sims 3" folder to a safe location, then copy it back into My Documents\Electronic Arts\ if you need to.

Hello,
Yes, it's always recommended to keep a copy of your savegames from time to time: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3(\Saves)
Though, whenever you install a new expansion pack, the old save is not removed.
You'll only be prompted to remove the savegames when you try to uninstall the base game.

But you don't need to uninstall the legal copies before installing pirated copies.
