Stray pet problems..[SOLVED]

ok before getting seasons, stray pets always gave me lag problems in my game it did cause freezing but I followed a video (DEP video from this website) to prevent crashing and it solved the problem, still had lag but not as much and no freezing. after downloading the sims 3 seasons every time I eather have adopted a stray or a stray is in front of my home or on my lot my game lags alot and has been freezing constantly. it used to be when i just adoped the pet but now its even if a stray is on my lot.

May be unrelated, but do you have any Mods or Custom Content?

I do but not to many...just a couple skins, one outfit and 3 diffrent make up options but thats it. also I should add I tried the razer game booster didnt do that much. my computer is made for games so I dont think thats a problem.

I am testing that out today, deleted all my mods and custom contect. but I have an extra question and wondering if this could be the cause? my sims game was really starting to freeze up yesterday even more than normal I had to restart my computer 5 times cause of it constantly freezing and that same day later in the day I got a warning from my computer saying that my hard disk is failing and that I need to back up my information so it wont be lost. it may not answer my pets problem but it has been freezing up more latley sence yesterday. also I dont want to lose my game so if my hard disk is failing is there any way I can back it up so when I replace my hard drive I dont lose my old game?

I dont think so, when the warning comes up it says its from microsoft windows and it says windows has detected a problem with the hard disk and to make a copy of what I have so I dont lose it and to replace or repair the hard disk

Its strange cause my computer is pretty much new, and ive looked up problems with hard drives and it says that when the hard drive is failing the computer makes these strange noises but my computer doesnt make any noises it was alittle slow on start up yesterday but seems better today but im still getting the warning.

Well, I know from personal experience, that it doesn't matter how old a computer is, it can get knocked around and have things be messed up. My mom bought a brand new laptop last summer, and within three months it was dead. The hard drive failed, just like yours is warning you, because of a virus (or so we were told). So even though I'm not sure if this could help the sims problem at all, do you have a virus scanner/any sort of firewall on your computer?

I just found out it was from over heating the computer :/ didnt realise where it was placed was not letting the air fan cool down the computer and has been like that for some time found that out today when unplugging the speakers and it was hot and the computer never got hot before I moved it to a new place. I did read about what causes a hard drive to crash and heat and virus are two of them. thanks for the help though, and I do think that it could of been the mods I had that slowed down my game because I started a new one with no mods which all of them I removed from my game and it didnt seem to have lag almost at all, even when I had pets on my lot. I will just have to keep an eye on what I download thanks everyone!
