Please Help! sims crashing

I brought the sims pets yesterday and it stops working when i start playing it
I put sim launcher in DEP file as changed the settings but im confused, its brand new laptop i got 2 days ago
just to play the sims! i want to add generations but dont want to if it stops working all the time!

I tried doing the steps offered, but when i go to open ultimate fix it
trys to open on google crome then stops. i have windows 8. please
someone help me driving me nuts just want to play

The Ultimate Fix is a .rar file which you have to open using WinRAR only. Read the instructions on the page above VERY carefully and do not skip any steps. RE-DOWNLOAD both the manual patch and the Ultimate Fix.

Im going to download the sims 3 generations, without a disk will i have to go through the updates again? and will it be ok to do so without a disk?

Disc? What disc? During the installation you do not need a disc, nor after the installation when you want to play the game.

If you DO NOT apply any more "# Crack" folders and just install the new expansion packs you want, you should be fine. If you do, however, run into any problems, just RE-DO step 3 and 4.
