"Sims 3: Not Responding"

So, I've been playing the Sims 3 University. And it was working properly, up until a few minutes ago.
While in-game, the game froze and didn't completely crash (I had to do manual shut-off).
I restarted my laptop and tried to play the game again.
I use CC Magic (still haven't fixed the 'materializing clothing' bug either), and when the game didn't respond, as in a black screen with the twirling loading circle thing. It stayed this way for a while, about half an hour before I decided it was a bust and opened up task manager, saw the "not responding", and exited manually. I ran the game vanilla, deleted the one file save and its back-up that i was playing.
I've never experienced this problem before and tried looking for some solutions, but came up with nothing.
