Sims 3 Mac / Boot Camp
If I run the Sims 3 on my mac using windows 7 64-bit through boot camp, will I have the same crashing issues?
It happens randomly, either when I am saving the game, creating a family or a changing outfits the game freezes and crashes. By what I've been reading it might be customs content installed but I don't have any.
I've done a clean install and followed various advices on the forums, I am just not that sure if I do install windows (bootcamp) will solve this issues.
Is there anyone on the Mac forums that decided to go that way by installing win 7 on their mac?

Hey! I had the same exact crashing issues, and the only solution was to play with lower graphics.
Try doing this and let me know.

Re: Sims 3 Mac / Boot Camp
i have the same problems too - only crashes in CAS (even without cc) - try this....
I've uninstalled everything
Installed base game > install all ep's and sp's > apply the ultimate fix for MAC > apply manual patch > apply the ultimate fix CRACK > apply manual patch again > apply ultimate fix crack file again
Run game on medium settings
I've done this > seems to be working for me now

Re: Sims 3 Mac / Boot Camp
I did the things listed above but after a few days it would start crashing again ( i was also clearing caches, etc) and i wasnt going to reinstall my whole game every couple of days.
I made the move over to bootcamp and it runs amazingly.
Seriously, MAC makes great hardware but seeing as EA was lazy and just packaged the PC version of the game in CIDER (which is a virtual windows enviroment for MAC) it runs like crap and uses a ton of your computers processing power.
In windows it doesnt take up nearly as much of the RAM and it runs so much smoother. Without any CC the game plays perfectly and i only have slight lags waiting for everything to load fully in CAS
