MY PC Don't Like My Sims 3 University

Hi All,

Oh Boy Do I feel Silly Now my Joy was soon replaced with despair, my sims 3 plays fine but my new sim nor my two other sims can go to Uni now !! I mean how did that Happen I had been playing away with them in the University I just got them home for their first term. They got married Yeah come to think of it that had been an issue I thought it was because she had met an NPC in the Uni who she took back with her the first time their relationship wouldn't go past going steady for the longest time, then I gave up and sent them back to uni when they finished the simester they got home and the propose marriage was there so hey I got them to marry in a wedding beach setup I had put in to the town (Ahh suddenly dawning on me could that be my issue) I have only used it twice and its in two seperate towns with seperate sims ??? anyway I tried to take them back to uni and about 5 minutes after the University loads it crashes MY PC Don't Like My Sims 3 University 2830496658

I need some help I will go remove the wedding beach and try again no my new sim is in a different town and the wedding room is not installed and she cant get to uni either ??? whats happend over night to kill my university anyone any idea and opps sorry for rambling I just wanted to give you the best idea of what I'd been doing prior to the crashes

Hmmm...I wonder if it has anything to do with Sims marrying someone from university. My Sim was engaged to a Sim when he came to visit her from University that she met in her second term. I didn't have them marry. I didn't know there was a feature of visiting sims to ask them if they want to be your roomate at home. I had a sim become her roomate at home but, then when I wanted them to move into another home I had to remove her as a roomate because she couldn't move with her. So, I'm wondering in your case can it be now they are married they both can't go back to university maybe? Just a thought anyway.

I dont think that would cause these problems i did add him to her household before they left University to permit him to travel with her, and that wouldn't explain University crashing when i take other sims in I have also noticed a longer lag time between selecting an action and the sim carrying it out some times they wont do they just stand stuck in another room, on one occasion my antivirus kicked in for a full system scan that could cause a crash but this night I was in a seperate pair of newly weds in their home my antivirus kicked in to update im hoping that caused the game to stop working and I will try it again Hmmm not sure at all this one has me stumped Im using CC and mods but they have never caused an issue so I dont see why they would all of a sudden start being the problem Question

Hello,

Antivirus can indeed cause problems with The Sims, it's best to disable it for the duration of your game time.
Having said that, this could also be caused by mods/cc.
I'm not sure it has anything to do with your sims' marriage or the location the wedding took place.

thank you for your comments,I don't think it has anything to do with the wedding either as I have since deleted all my sims games all the new content that I applied, I done a system restore and the sims 3 was working perfectly as soon as i went to go to university I crashed again, I had already taken all mods out I know that the CC group I use are 100% clean as I have been with them since the sims came out so I'm still not convinced its that either but its killing my game I am totally fedup with it now and ready to remove all the sims from my PC I did remove two mods completely as I had gotten them from another reliable group but they had been the last thing I had installed before the crashing happened, Windows had an update recently and Im wondering if that could have anything to do with it though cant see how if anyone has any suggestions Im totally open for any sugggestions Im about to try to play the sims now and I shall try Univesity after (if) I can get to play the Sims 3 at all. Try removing ALL of your mods, as they may become corrupted over time, or they may even be outdated or conflicting with each other.

(Just backup and remove "Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3" so that you're starting without the caches, mods, other cc, and saves.)

Hi invalidusername

I have already done all of that i have noticed two things that are happening frequently while Im playing the sims in either Uni or Sims3 I get an error message saying Three is a crowd for a date do you woant to dial it down a bit ? and if I pause or go to build mode for any length of time my game crashes as soon as I go back to live mode strange huh? let me know if anyone has gotten any other suggestions please

The Actual Error message Im getting is Three is a crowd for romance you'd have to dial it down to make it a regular group do you want to do so?

Im getting this when my sim is sleeping or in class shopping in the standard sims 3 alone I don't know if its Relevant but its definately annoying, i have also noticed if I go and clear my cache's before I attempt game play I dont crash this happens with both Uni and sims 3. ive a big problem with sims 3 univerity when my sim grads when hes leaving for home he dont even thou it says he dose he gets stuck in the uni world and cant interact with anything click on phone or anything help please

ive been on the sims 3 forum about it and it seems to work for people if they dont invite people to there graduation so im gonna try that out. i havent got any mods or custom content so dont know if thats a problem for some people

Perhaps it's best to open your own topic for that problem. I'm afraid I can't help with that yet, I do have University Life, but since I'm building a world I haven't actually played it.

well b4 i had a problem with getting room mate i was using arroa skies or what ever its called and it was fine doing it with that but i had to factory reset my computer so im woundering if thats a problem with some of the other towns... but ill open a new topic about it

The Error trap works it also causes some actions to take place I was in the Uni with my sims and I selected them to test the skelital Structure and my sim jumped all the way back to their house but on that its much better than crashing I can also leave my game paused and get back to game play when I return to it so thank you thats a big help I also do recomend Nrass for anyone using mods they keep their mods up to date and frequently update all.

i used error trap also and the travel thing now error trap worke ok. but the travel thing when your sim graduates and is due to return home its worse then it was b4 but all thou the game it works ok tell then so just trying it with error trap on its own now. plus i think its a bit of a bug with some of the towns. like if u use apachplanes and bridgeport u cant hire room mates in the uni world if u just stay in a house not a dorm . but if u use a.skies u can. so me thinking they used sunset vally in the podcast because thats the only town it works with proper.... let me know what town your useing in the game and if u was able to graduate from uni ok with it

If you have any issues with the NRaas mods themselves, you can post about them in the NRaas forums. Twallan is very helpful, unless he finds out that you have a pirated game, as he takes offense to that.

works fine with error trap the travel mod just messes it up more but the sims 3 uni ep only works proper with only 3 worlds for some reason

Hi

I use sunlight tides at the moment and my sims can graduate with no problems, I did notice quiet a few glitches tonight on my game play my sim was having a bacherlotte party but when she went to serve food from buffet table she was bounced into the house changed to a fairy (she's a witch) and her outfit changed, I tried it with the male same he bounced to the house also then it was time for bed and they both got bounced to the ground floor of the house, I saved my game then went to main menu reloaded game and glitches were gone I think its game glitches to be honest but I could be wrong, Good luck with yours

yes i had that problem with Bridgeport. and also unable to graduate. ive tryed it with every town now and it only seems to work with them 3 with no errors let me know how u get on with it anyways

I've tried it in Aurora Skies and works fine in there too the only issue Im having now (not persistant) is a few glitches or occasional bounce out of the screen Im in or a simple crash which is annoying when you forget to save LOL but I do hope you manage to get your sims to graduate
