Post by Guest Fri 10 May 2013, 20:31

Dear, All
I am currently facing the error "Please insert the disc for The Sims 3 Showtime". I recently installed 'The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff' and after that everything went wrong.
I tried the fix (ultimate) didn't work.
Please any solutions would be great.
Kindest Regards,
Craig

Hello Craig,

Are you sure you applied ALL instructions in Ultimate Fix? Please, check this thread first.

In mean while, I'm gonna sum up what you need to do, ok? Smile You're saying you recently installed High End Loft stuff. When we install e new EP or SP, game demans u to patch the game to latst version again. And after that using ultimate fix will fix your problem Smile

Most of the EP's haven't required me to update the only one was University Life. And tried the ultimate fix again but still it still asks for a disc.

//EDIT

Ok, fixed it I inserted the base games disc and it worked. Another
problem, once the games started and I get to the game selection screen
it says my graphic card is not recognised and now doesn't show my saved
game or any of the towns to create another game or any items on the menu
button.
Everything was working fine.

Hello,

We'll try two things - it might be a compatibility issue though, keep that in mind.
Please provide the following information:

1. Your laptop model.
2. Operating system.
3. 32- or 64-bit.

In the meantime, try backing up and removing this folder completely: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\ and see if it makes a difference.

Hello,

Please type in "System" in your Windows search bar and then look somewhere near the bottom of the window, it says either 32- or 64-bit.
Most likely 64-bit though, since it's Windows 8.
Try my other suggestion too, please.

//EDIT

By the way, I need the exact system model.

Hello,

In the in-game options, go to the "Graphics" settings and lower all the sliders and turn off all extra options, like "Smooth rendering".
Also try GameBooster: www.iobit.com/gamebooster.php

Then please download and open Speccy from www.speccy.com . What does it show under "Graphic card"? AMD or Intel?

Hello,

No, I did, but like I said in your other topic too: we prefer everyone keeping all their problems regarding the same game in one topic, as that makes things easier to track for us.
See the Forum rules for more information Smile :

(Click to enlarge, or go to: www.games4theworld.forumotion.com/register for a full list of the Forum rules)

Anyhow, try downloading and installing this video driver: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/display-20121023172326.zip
If possible, use some kind of "Custom" > "Clean installation" option. If not, just install it and restart your PC afterwards. Good luck!

Yes, I have read the rules; otherwise I wouldn't have signed up.
Yes, everything is working fine now apart from the problem that every 10 or 15 minutes the game says "The Sims 3 has stop working" and a dialog box with a green completion bar goes round and round on loop and then goes away but closes The Sims 3 and loses the saved game.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Craig.
