When i open the Sims 3 Launcher it says 'see log'

Hey! (:
I'm sorry for my bad english but i hope you understand everything i'm writing.

i'm having a problem. When i open the Sims 3 Launcher it says 'see log' thingy (; i know you've made a video to fix this problem and i watched it and did everything it said in it but it still doesn't work.

I installed the original version of sims 3 ( because i still had it but no expansions Crying or Very sad

) and when i went into the windows registrey i could only see the sims 3 expansions i installed. there were no other installed expansions that i don't have. So here's my question: how can i fix this problem? Sad

i'm getting crazy. i'm now sitting here for the third day, trying to install all the expansions. but it still doesn't work. please When i open the Sims 3 Launcher it says 'see log' 2830496658

Hello there,

I suggest you do a "clean" uninstall of your Sims 3 base game. OK, read through this article here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall
It's very important that you manually delete the right registry entries and the so-called "uninstall information".

If you use one of these automatic "registry cleaners" (like the "CCleaner"), you might still get problems; because they might not be able to remove registry keys of the Sims 3.

but would the expansions still work if i only delete the base game? because i don't want to install them all over again, because it needs so much time. and would they work if i install the base game again?

First of all, if you (later) decide to download a few expansions, you MUST have the base game installed Wink

Keep in mind that the "Ultimate fix" only works if you AT LEAST have one of the following expansions installed: 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, Seasons, Supernatural, Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations.

But right now what we want to do is to get your base game working Wink

i uninstalled the base game and now installed it again. but when i now try to install an expansion it asks if i want to delete it with all it's features Sad

Are you sure you completely uninstalled your Sims 3 game(s) ? The thing is, the error you describe usually means that the uninstallation wasn't complete.
I know that it might be a bit difficult, but please (re-)read the article about uninstalling I showed you above.

And where did you actually get/buy your Sims 3 base game from ? Maybe something is wrong with that - (re-)download the base game from "Games4theWorld".

i thought i made everything right now cuz i could see the expansions on the sims 3 launcher. but when i made the step with the fixes it all dissapeared again. so it's still not working Sad

i don't know what i'm doing wrong. i'm doing exactly the same as told in the instructions Sad

I installed the base game, i used the manual patch and it's version 1.50 . i installed the expansions i want and the ultimate fix. i've put each fix in the right place and it's still not working...

i guess i'll cry now xD
i thought i'd finally made it, but seems like i'm sitting here tomorrow, too Sad

and i bought the base game in a store in my town.

OK, from what I understand, we're making some progress Very Happy

. I hope you downloaded at least one of the expansions necessary for the Ultimate fix ? Alright, then re-read the instructions of the Ultimate fix very carefully (even I messed that up once). Did you actually put in the #crack from the ultimate fix into the base game location ? That's probably the most important part of the fix.

Hey,
Here's what I suggest:

First, go to My Documents and move the folder Electronic Arts to your desktop.
Then, uninstall every game you have (the base game and all expansions).
Then, restart your computer.
Then, install the base game and expansions one by one, following this order:
- Install a game or expansion
- Open the Launcher and check for updates (if there aren't any it's fine)
- Install the next one and repeat
Once all this is done, open the Ultimate Fix and move the files from the Crack folder to the base game installation folder as instructed.

Your game should then be working!
Tell us how it went!

i'm now EXACTLY following the instructions of the installation guide document. (which i got as a pdf) and i hope it'll work fine after that.

even if there are like 3 diffrent instuctions in each document you can get ? wayne (;

i'll tell you how it went.
and since i'm a real idiot in things like that i'll guess that it doesn't work xd but we'll see.

What Shamrock said about the "Sims 3" folder (in My documents/Electronic Arts): if you never actually started the game, then you won't find a "Sims 3" folder Wink

, so in that case don't be surprised if it isn't there.

Besides, the only difference between Shamrock's suggestion and mine is actually about the question whether to restart after uninstallation or not. OK, you might try restarting if you really have to uninstall again, but we also had lots of other users here who didn't restart - and didn't have any problems afterwards.

Last time i check, when i get into this problem, it was because i download the wrong expansion from somewhere else . Maybe you should start over to download the another expansion that after you apply it and cause you game fail.

When applying the Ultimate Fix, you ONLY need to use the #crack folder, if you're following these instructions, like you should. The other folders are there for only if you're updating using the launcher.
