Black screen

Yesterday, I updated sims 3 to the latest version, did the fix, installed aurora skies and University Life.
Then when I opened sims 3 to play, it's just a BLACK SCREEN Sad

I waited for several minutes hoping it will start normally but it didn't.

I've applied window mode thru the (something) .ini and still got the black screen, and the "not respoding" at the title bar.
I followed all the steps from https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-29-09-2012 but it's still blaaaaaack.

I've been searching for other solution but it's all not working.
I'm at my wits end Crying or Very sad

Please help me.
and. I was. so. eggcited for aurora skies.and .university life. my weekend. just ended. without even playing it.

Ok, from what I read you didn't re apply the Ultimate Fix (get the latest one) after installing University Life.
Is that right? If so, apply it!

I already did that. I even did it for multiple times. I'm not so new about the ultimate fix and the manual patch so I can assure you it's not about it Sad

Ok, just checking. Is your graphic card up to date?
Also, do you have any mods?

Yes, it is up to date and Yes I have mods/cc.
But I didn't got any problem with it before Sad

Now, I regret installing Aurora skies and University life. i can't play anymore Sad

Yes, but maybe they're not all compatible with the new version of your game...
Ok, please go to My Documents\Electronic Arts, and rename the "The Sims 3" folder (add a letter for example, it is just so that the game doesn't recognize it anymore).
Does your game work now?

Although my following "solution" will sound a bit "exaggerated", you might consider it (provided that you're willing to spend some time on this):

This article is about un-installing The Sims 3 and its expansions. I would first try only to uninstall the "university"-expansion - and you should pay attention especially to the part about manually deleting the right registry keys.

After un-installing, go to My Documents/Electronic Arts and do what Shamrock said above (rename the Sims 3 folder). And after this, some Helpers suggest to restart the computer, but I also had some users who did not restart at this point, and still managed to get the game working. Since re-booting doesn't hurt, you may do that too.

Now re-install University. Then apply the manual patch again, and at the end the Ultimate fix (the #crack is enough; you don't need all files from the fix).

Hello, sorry for the ~~very~~ late response.
I re-installed sims, and didn't backed up (cause I dont care about my saves anymore)
I uninstalled university life ans restarted my pc.
It's still a black screen with the forever loading cursor. Mad

I hope someone will still respond to this Crying or Very sad

EDIT:
I uninstalled all the expansions and just added all my mods/cc with just the base game and it runs perfectly. Now I'll only think about what expansions to put one at a time to see what expansion will cause that effin black screen

EDIT 2:
The blackscreen is there again when I added expansion. I even did trial and error Crying or Very sad

i have the same problem but was all working fine in the desktop which was on windows 7 now on a windows 8 laptop and i get the black screen with the loading icon
