can't install anything help please

I've read the guide on how to install for mac, downloaded late night and stuffit but every time i drag the file to be extracted it says "Downloads/The Sims 3 - Late Night.rar.torrent" does not appear to be compressed or encoded. It is advised that you obtain further information about the contents of this file from the sender or provider of the file." so yeah i can't even get past the 1st step can anyone help please

Uhm, if you downloaded the torrent file, you need to put it in a torrent downloader. It will take several hours to download. For a mac, I use transmission.

Yes, as mentioned above you will need a torrent client.
Also, as above I would recommend Transmission; http://www.transmissionbt.com/
Open up the torrent file with this, then wait for the file to download. Once the file has successfully downloaded you then extract the .rar file using that version of stuffit expander.

thanks for the help..how safe is transmission though because i've heard good and bad

I've used a lot and had no problem, but you need to have at least leopard to use it safely. The updates basically make it hard to use on tiger unless you get an old version.

The good and the bad doesn't really depend on the client you use, but whether the download you're downloading is safe or not.
