Sims 3 will not update at all

Hey everybody. (I created a new account, because I forgot my login to my last one, Fl0wridaa)

So I recently decided to install some new eps, like University life and Island Paradise. But I also wanted ambitions and generations, so I downloaded all that from g4tw's download page and then the new mac guide.

So basically when I unzipped the sims 3 app I put it in my applications folder and started it, then I also clicked no on the first box that came up saying that I could update my sims, and then the Sims 3 window pops up, so then I press the update game tab or whatever it's called (sorry I'm annoyed) and it says my game is up to date, so I press refresh and then it says that I can update to version 1.55 and I press it..


So when it's done updating... It just says " Unknown error occured" and then I press okay and it shuts down.. this is really annoying, I have been at it for 3-4 days and the same sh*t happens!!

I'm currently downloading it right now so hopefully it works, if it does i'll reply back

........ so that didn't work ... it updated it and patched the files and stuff and when i opened the application it said it needed the disc  and stuff
