Hello, i've recently downloaded the sims 3 from razor1911 and Island Paradis from games4theworld.
When i installed the sims 3 base, and start the launcher, it says theres an update available. After i update,
and start the launcher again it says version 0.00.0.0 and tells me the error. I've tried so many fixes but none of them work.
Like deleting the register keys, downloading the 1.6 patch, nothing works. Please help i don't know what to do anymore "There was an error during startup" after updating. [SOLVED] Icon_surprised

Hello,

This error usually means that something went wrong during the update; please, for the future, don't update using the launcher.

First of all, make sure to get rid of your Sims 3 installation, read this here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall   Afterwards, re-boot your computer.

Now, I suggest you also download at least one of the following expansions: 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, Seasons, Supernatural, Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations.

And then:

1) Re-install the base game
2) Download and apply the "manual patch": https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v155-fix-manual-patch
3) Now install the expansions you want (at least one of the expansions I just mentioned)
4) Now apply the manual patch again (even if it says your game is updated already)
5) Download and apply the "Ultimate fix": https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

You just need the two files from the #crack folder in the fix. Copy the two files to C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. When you are prompted, choose "replace existing files".

And then you're done! Start the game and see if it worked. Good luck !

im downloading Seasons now, so your fix will only work for 2 expansion packs? cause i want Island Paradise AND Seasons. So basicly you mentioned "If i wanna play Island Paradise i have to download another expansion pack"? I know but its kinda late and i want ik working tonight xd i've already done the steps for completely deleting the sims 3 leftovers. Now downloading Seasons. I'll tell you when it works.

EDIT:

It did not work...i've did those steps the whole night long...still the same damn problem, i'm tired of this. I've tried so so so so so many things to make this work, but nothing...just nothing works. I'll think i just get the sims out of my head cause i won't be able to play it even when i buy it. It's not your foult i know but it's just frustrating all the work has been done for nothing.

Hello,

Complaining about how The Sims 3 doesn't work is not a solution to your problem Wink . Some players claimed that when installing Razor1911 version and G4TW expansions all together, similar problems occur. I think the issue is on Razor1911 version base game. I suggest you uninstall the base game via Revo Uninstaller and install the one from G4TW. Follow Carlos G.'s step afterwards.

Indeed, as far as I'm concerned, I have nothing to add to this, except that my base game is actually from Razor too (all other expansions are from G4TW), and I never had any problems.

If your OS is in English, please use my new tool (see here).
Depending on the error you get, we'll see where the problem is!

The tool doesn't work cause i have only Island Paradise + the base game on my pc. It tells me a list of expansions but Island Paradise isn't in the list, maybe you should update your fix and add Island Paradise?

Regards

//EDIT

Maybe you can make a "how to install" for me? Or for more people? Like i want "The Sims 3 + Island Paradise" nothing else, maybe you can explain it in steps? On how to install it? Because the tool doesn't work for Island Paradise.

//EDIT

Can someone help me with Teamviewer? I'll set up everything you need on my desktop, just to make it easy?

Currently it's not possible to have just the base game and "Island Paradise". You need at least one of the expansions listed in the Ultimate fix guide in order to get this fix working. And Shamrock's tool is designed to help you place the crack files correctly.

Look Island Paradise is already added, look at the update log:

Normally, it would be Shamrock's task to explain the following to you; but as he's not here, I will answer that question on his behalf.

Again, that "tool" only helps you to PLACE the crack files correctly. There is only ONE version of the "Ultimate fix" from Games4TheWorld; and if you look at the instruction .pdf inside the Ultimate fix, you will find the following:

2. In order for this Fix to work, you need AT LEAST one of the following expansions: University Life, 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, Seasons, Supernatural, Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations!

If you don't believe that you need at least one of these expansions, then ask one of the other (Sims) Helpers or Admins. Shamrock's tool is not meant as a "replacement" for the Ultimate fix, in case you thought that.

If you really can't do anything with all the things suggested so far, then try having a look at this here, before doing anything with this "TeamViewer" thing:

http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall

Read that article carefully, and the things suggested in there. After doing that "clean un-install", please re-boot the computer. And then continue with re-installing. Of course, you should also download at least one of the expansions mentioned in the Ultimate fix instructions.

If I may add a more personal opinion, even if there was a way to "only have the base game and Island Paradise" installed, you probably would get bored very quickly with the game, so you might download a few expansions more.

First off, ANY EXPANSION AFTER GENERATIONS IS ABLE TO RUN THE GAME WITH THE FIX. It does NOT need to be one between Generations and the decades pack (70's 80's 90's). So, having JUST Island Paradise will give the same results as having that and one of the other games listed.

Next, what exactly is going on with your game right now? I can't quite figure out if you're still having the same error, or what.

Also, re-downloading and reusing the manual patch more than likely would have fixed the first problem that you had.

Alright, but i still have the same problem, i did the steps of G. Carlos but it was still the "Error during startup, please check log" error.
Today i'm going to try again with Paradise Island + Seasons, if that's a ood combination maybe you can tell me that but i'll doube check the registers cause the previous time i didn't find any of those keys in my register after the uninstall...wich is kinda weird. Maybe i missed some keys but i really doubt that. But anyway i'll try again i'll double check and double read everything. This is my last try though, unistalled the sims like 9 times or something, but there is one thing i havent said...and forgot:

1 year ago, i used to play the bought version of the sims 3 + world adventuresand late night, it was a CD...but i lost the CD so thats why i started to download from games4theworld. Maybe there are STILL some leftovers of Late night and world adventures? I tried Revo Uninstaller though, but it still didn't work. And of course i won't post my TeamViewer information here, thats why i wanted a PM if you wanna contact me on that. Anyway, if you know more about my problem, please post the littlest things you know...When i knew you could run your own Resort on that expansion i really wanted it cause my favorite games are Simulators. Sorry for the long text but thanks for reading it, and i appriciate all the help from here. I know it's a difficult error.

OK, I didn't think of that - or didn't find that out yet. But there's no reason to shout or whatever Wink

Anyway, what I mentioned at the end of my last post was that this question of what expansions to install is (almost) irrelevant anyway, assuming that one wants to play with more than one expansion at a later point.
