Mac problems Empty Mac problems

Post by Guest Mon 05 Aug 2013, 14:43

Hello to all!
I thought making a topic about this case would be better.
I think the Mac problem is becoming quite serious. People can't make the game work with Island Paradise anymore...
Does anybody know who made the Cracks in the first place? I tried to look into it, but honestly I don't know what to change.

So yeah, let us try to do something to help Phoebe out! Wink (talking about this mainly).

Hello,

While I'm certainly not a Mac specialist, how about the following, if you assume the problem lies in the cracks ?

You can use the so-called "No-CD mod" by NRAAS, but this only seems to work if you DON'T apply any cracks (= you need to have the "original" files).

Now, why shouldn't this basic principle apply to Mac systems too ? (Correct me if I'm wrong of course). But if people don't have their original files anymore (because they replaced them with the non-working "Ultimate fix"), then I'm not sure hot to get hold of these original files...but I guess it's similar as in Windows systems: a complete un-install could help. After which you then apply that "NoCD.package" file, just like any other NRAAS mod.

//EDIT

I'm not sure if any of the "Sims Helpers" remembers the user "Meraki" - back then when the Admin started promoting users to "Sims Helpers", she was on the team, but only briefly. I remember one of her posts, in which she basically admitted that playing the Sims 3 on a Mac system is a lost cause. She then went on to explain that she had a Windows OS installed on her Mac computer, and that seemingly worked for her better.

Like I already wrote on the forum, EA don't seem to be too much interested in "optimizing" their games for Mac systems.

I know that this little anecdote is demotivating and not really helpful. But if someone with programming skills (like Meraki) even admits to be unable to do anything, then this makes you think.

Hello,

Has anyone (Phoebe..? Wink )searched Google for a Mac-compatible crack? I don't own a Mac so I can't test any of them, but I did get several results on Google, for example this.

 Hello,

I've tried a crack that I found form Google before I got ill, it wasn't this one Lady ElDi, but it didn't work. But I'll try this one also. Still I can't trust the cracks from Google.

And yeah, it's the thing I am talking about. And I am really, and really tired about getting blamed for nonsence. The Mac users who bought the game also having the same problems, and Ea can't find the solution. But still everyone is looking up to me for finding a solution that EA couldn't. Just unbelievable Smile

And as Carlos G. said, I found the only way you could work the Sims 3 on your Mac is installing Windows in it. I am using one, and I am not having problems with it. I decided to do this after seeing the Mac users who bought every expansion packs and couldn't even get a straight answers from EA helpers for solving their problems. It's a hopeless try. It's obvious.

Hi there,

Don't worry about that. That's probably because we actually did that a few times in the past, lol.
