Lag when moving the camera. Empty Lag when moving the camera.

Post by Guest Sat 17 Aug 2013, 19:57

So this problem appeared after about 2 in-game weeks. Whenever i move the camera the game lags/stutters (however frames do not seem to drop). Also the game works perfectly and smoothly whenever the camera is still or the game is paused. I tryed:

Forcing v-sync on.
Updating all my drivers.
Lowering all game setting to minimum. (had like 90 fps but still lagged when i moved the camera)
Lowering audio quality.
Using resetsim *
Setting detailed lots to max (some people said it worked)
Defragged and fixed all registry errors
Using Gamebooster
Made sure my pc is not overheating
I have no CC and only mods i have are master controller and overwatch (they helped a bit)
Made sure my pc has no virus

I also want to mention that not all parts and expansions of the game are downloaded from this site which could have something to do with that lag but i'm not sure if it's gonna fix it or not. So do you think i should wipe out everything that has to do with 'sims 3' from my computer and download/install everything from here just to be safe? ( i don't care about my game progress.. right now i want to get rid of the lag because it's kinda unplayable)

My pc:
Internal processor name:
AMD Athlon II X4 631 Quad-Core Processor

Main memory:
4094 MB
Adapter name:
AMD Radeon HD 6450
Windows version:
 Windows 7
Is it possible that my pc is just crappy and can't run it at all? Sorry i'm not familiar with that stuff Rolling Eyes

Hello,

Have you tried turning V-Sync off ? And please, turn down "detailed lots" a bit - I don't see why this could help in your case. Are your mods compatible with your base game patch level ?

Also, have you already looked at this here ? https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t4692-game-lag-possible-fixes

I tried turning Vsync off and Datailed Lots to one...  I'm just getting more fps that way. Mods are compatible with the game version but thing is that i was having this problem before i installed the mods. I also just tried removing any unneeded programs and files from my pc and also deleting the game's catche but still nothing changed Sad (although i noticed quicker loading times).

One thing i didn't tryed is reinstalling the game and i'll do it right now with the installation guide. However I was wondering if the game is getting more laggy and demanding by adding more expansions... If that's the case maybe i should skip some expansions or stuff packs. (and yes i checked that link Smile ).

Do you have your games installed on an external hard-drive ?

Also, yes, the more expansions you install, the more demanding it becomes. You could try installing the base game and only a few expansions - see if that makes any difference.

//EDIT

As a last option, you could try to rename the folder "The Sims 3", located in My Documents/Electronic Arts.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. Took me a while to reinstall all the parts and test the game. Just wanted to say that the problem is kinda fixed now. It's not completely fixed but it's playable now.
