Error 0x0175dcbb on startup. [SOLVED] Empty Error 0x0175dcbb on startup. [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Mon 02 Sep 2013, 17:11

Greetings, before I state my problem, I'd like to say it's a reinstall, before which I used regedit to clear ALL sims 3 related files except the ones in "documents>electronic arts" so I could keep the previous save game.

I reinstalled the base game and all expansion packs up to Island Paradise, in the correct order, updating the base game as I went.

I have used the crack that comes with the files, the crack from the ultimate fix, and tried a couple others but nothing worked.

I can't use the launcher either, but I managed to update using an updater which I think I found on this site, fruitlessly.

I had been playing TS3 up to Seasons on this computer before, so there shouldn't be any problem with the computer itself.

I'd like to know if there's any advice on how to fix this, preferably one that doesn't involve reinstalling :/

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
That error code means the registry of The Sims 3 is broken. To fix this problem you have 2 ways
1) Follow this video. If this step doesn't work pass to step 2.

(Backup your The Sims 3 folder in My Documents before this step if you don't want to lose your mods and save files.)
2)You need to use Your Uninstaller! which you can find here. Then uninstall the game and all expansions with this program in "Super Mode". After uninstalling your game in Super Mode, use this guide for installing The Sims 3.

Thanks a million!
I did everything as you and the guides indicated and it worked great.
I had already done this so I can't see what the problem was, but I guess "Your Uninstaller" took care of it. Thanks for recommending this amazing tool.

Hello,
Your Uninstaller does a clean uninstall(cleans registry and stuff). Thats why it worked.

Happy to see you solved your problem. Happy Simming! The Sims Plumbob 1 The Sims Plumbob 1
