Sims 3 not responding ? Empty Sims 3 not responding ?

Post by Guest Tue 17 Sep 2013, 01:52

Hey, so a few days ago I solved my crashing problem with help from the official tech team who instructed me to enable the 3gb extension. After reinstalling the game for unrelated reasons, I did as instructed and the game worked perfectly fine. No more crashing, it was even smoother and a lot faster than before.
A couple of days ago I downloaded a bunch of CC -a lot of it, actually. After that I launched the game. Only a black screen showed with the cursor loading, I waited for a while but nothing happened. Tried to click out of the window (my task bar was still showing) but everything was frozen although I could still move the cursor. I had to open the task manager to shut down the process since it wasn't responding.
I thought maybe some of the CC I downloaded was corrupted or maybe there was just too many files, so I moved the Mods folder out of the Sims 3 folder and re-tried to launch the game but it still wouldn't work. I retried many times, launching the game through TS3W.exe, TS3.exe, the launcher, I tried the Ultimate Fix crack and the Island Paradise (my last add-on) crack but it still wouldn't work. I don't think the problem is coming from my graphic card this time since the 3gb extension thingy solved the crashing. I am completely clueless as to what the problem could be and I have no idea what to do. Can anyone suggest something before I try to uninstall and reinstall everything ? (I have 7 add-ons so it's a bit of a pain lol) Thank you ;_;

Hello,

Please rename the folder and try again: C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.

Hello,

I did as instructed (I renamed the Sims 3 folder as "Sims 3 old" if that's what you meant) but the same thing happened. The game didn't respond. Sad

Hello,

Did you locate the folder correctly? Just to be sure, what I meant is not the one in Program Files, but the one in Documents.

Hello,

Can you disable in-game store in Options?

Big Edit: To do that, simply open the file Options.ini in C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. Hold Ctrl+F at the same time and type "Store". At the line enableingamestore, simple change the number to 0.

Haha thank you I was trying to figure out how to change that without going in-game.
I'll try it and see if it works !
EDIT : Nope, still nothing. As usual there's just a black screen and the cursor loading and I have to use the task manager to quit :/

Hello,

I think you need to wait for a while until the EA logo shows up. Trust me, a lot of people (including me) have to wait for quite a while until the game is fully loaded.

Yesterday and earlier I waited for about half an hour but it was still the same thing :/
I also kept track of the process' memory usage before aborting it and it keeps going up to over 800 000 K then stopping at some point. I guess that means it's really not responding.

Hello,

I think we have discussed nearly all the solutions. The remaining solution is to reinstall the base game the expansions and to clear registry entries so as to initiate a clean reinstallation. Read this guide to find out more on how to uninstall them correctly. Unless you don't really understand how to clear the registry entries manually, don't download CC Cleaner mentioned in the guide.

Hello,

I uninstalled and reinstalled everything from A to Z, deleted the registry folders and all leftovers but it's still the same problem. I'm so fed up. What should I do?

Hello,

Are the base game and all of the expansions/stuff packs you installed are legit disc copies? Or are they downloaded and installed via Origin? Or are some of them are cracked? If so can you make a list and categorise them?

All of them are cracked.
These are the expansions I have :

- The Sims 3 base game
- The Sims 3 Ambitions
- The Sims 3 Generations
- The Sims 3 Pets
- The Sims 3 Showtime
- The Sims 3 Seasons
- The Sims 3 University Life
- The Sims 3 Island Paradise

All of them are downloaded from Games4theworld except Generations and the base game. Of course, I'm using Games4theworld's Ultimate Fix.

Hello,

Where did you get the base game and Generations from? I start to suspect they are the problems.

Hello,

Can you tried redownloading the Ultimate Fix and apply the new Fix? Also, did you apply the manual patch v1.57?

Hello,

Yes I did apply the patch, my game is updated to the newest version. Also I'm pretty sure I have the latest version of the ultimate fix.

Hello,

Hmm, several users have reported that razor1911 base game cannot be collaborated properly with the expansions from G4TW (although some of them said it can run properly). Still I think you need to download the base game from games4theworld. This will ensure the success of installation. Now I think you should go and download Your Uninstaller Pro and the base game from www.games4theworld.org. Afterwards, uninstall all the base game and the expansions/stuff packs with Super Mode via Your Uninstaller Pro. Afterwards, install the base game from games4theworld.

Alright, I'll do that. When it's done can I try launching the game before reinstalling all of my EPs ? Just in case it's still not working, don't wanna have to uninstall 7 expansion packs again lol.
Do I have to download Generations from G4TW too?
