A little problem with beds o.0 Empty A little problem with beds o.0

Post by Guest Sat 28 Sep 2013, 22:12

The problem was that some of my beds were not able to be used.
No matter where the beds was the sims could not sleep in them.
I "fixed" the issue by deleting the beds and placing new ones.

My second problem that I can't fix nomatter what I do is with the sliding bookcase.
I dunno if anyone has experienced this but it is killing me, mostly cause I have no idea how it happened.

For some weird reason and I say that cause I am sure I didn't do anything, they turned outside in and they cannot be used.

My sim got stuck in the room so I had to destroy the walls to allow him to exit the room.

The sliding bookcase cannot be sold or demolished, it keeps telling me "cannot delete object in use".

I cannot close the wall again cause my sims will get stuck again, anyone knows about this?

Both these problems appeared after I installed "Late Night" , I don't know if it cause bugs or anything I'm just mentioning!

You can Ctrl-Shift while clicking on the bookcase to delete it.  You need to have testingcheatsenabled true activated to do that.

While you have testingcheats enabled, look around the rooms in build or buy mode to see if there are any odd-looking, grey oval objects that look like rugs.  If there are any in your rooms, delete those (they're jigs that have been causing problems in game).

I haven't used this bookcase in any of my lots so I'm not sure how it may have been turned around in your game.

Darn! If you use Twallan's Master Controller, you can pull up the object stats for the house (not inventory) and flush any unwanted objects that way.  It always works.

NRaas Master Controller (I can't post links yet).

As long as it doesn't affect my game... I used a cheat to fix 2 of my sims cause they got stuck and couldn't move (stoopid wild horse got in the way LOL) and they got even more bugged -- using stairs but ending up UNDER the house lol.

I need to know if with the controller you say removing that object won't cause any (more) malfunctions Very Happy

In my opinion, Twallan's mods have done nothing but improve my game all around.

If you want to use Master Controller just to flush the object from the lot, you can do that and then remove MC from your mods folder.

I'm not in game right now but from memory: From mapview or clicking on the lot you would bring up Object Stats, Not Inventory.  You will see a list of all objects on the lot. Select the book case, verify that you want it flushed and it will be gone.  You should receive a notification that MC flushed x-number of objects.

I'm really surprised that ctrl-shift click 'delete object' didn't work.  Maybe it works for me because of the mods I use???

Right, will read on it and see how it works before I do something I'll end up regretting.

(Have never used mods before)

Hello,

Master Controller is definitely not going to wreck your game, the creator is very trustworthy. You can download it, and read more about it here.

Hi ZomGhee,

At first I felt intimidated by so much information on the NRaas site but over time, I've come to understand how to use many of Twallan's mods to my game's advantage.

You would download Master Controller (base mod), the version that matches what your game version is.  If you're patched up to 1.55-1.57, use the latest version (eleven).

When you are in map view in your game, there should be tags (circles) above the houses, or you can click on the outside of the house or the lot ground.  When you do that, follow this for the objects on your lot...

NRaas>Master Controller>Object Stats>Not Inventory (click check mark)...You will get a "Flush" list.  Be careful what you select because it will be flushed (gone forever).  Find and select your book case, click on the check mark at the bottom and you should receive a verification notice.  Agree to flush it, and it's done.

If it makes you feel more comfortable, save your game before you do this.  If you run into any problems, you can always go back to the main menu without an additional save.  There are also x marks in addition to the check marks that will take you back to the previous screen/box.

Hmm, I tried reading the instructions but it comes to one very simple question, where on earth do I put this .package file?

Since I don't know the basics I can't expect to use a cheat to fix something!

In any case I decided to move out of that house cause it was giving me other bugs as well but I would like to know how things work for future issues!

The other day I got 2 sims stuck together that couldn't move and I had no idea how to fix them so I ended up deleting my game lol

Those crazy sims like to take up each others space sometimes and then take forever to unstick themselves. LOL!

If it ever happens again, you can reset the sims by entering resetsim (space) and their full name and that will teleport them back home.  You would enter that in the cheat box (ctrl-shift C).

I spent time reading up on the mods and what they do (miracles, they perform miracles, seriously) before I started using them.

Do you have a mods/cc folder set up within your Sims 3 folder?  This is where mods would be placed.  I don't know when I'll be able to add links but I'm hoping that someone who can do that can link you to some good, clear instructions on how to set up your mods folder.

It wasn't the sims fault perse... Some wild horses came into my lot and the horse +2 sims got stuck. I tried moving the sims but I so wish I hadn't done that.

They always ended up using the stairs but instead of walking up to the actual floor they ended between the terrain and 1st floor. Messed up!

I will keep the resetsim in mind.

As for your other question no I do not have a Mods folder. Like I said, dunno anything about the mods =P

Hello,

The simplest way to delete objects (without using mods) is to hold Ctrl+Shift+C at the same time and type "testingcheatsenabled true" without quotes. Afterwards, hold Shift and left-click on the objects you want to delete and choose "Object" >> "Delete".

Ah, if only I'd asked or looked for what to do sooner. I'll keep that in mind if anything gets glitched again.

It seems this was already suggested by Nanouk...
For your Mod, please follow this guide.

I am not sure what will happen if the players hold Ctrl+Shift at the same time. But my suggestion only consists of "Shift". I think this might be the reason why Nanouk's suggestion doesn't work Surprised .
