The Sims 3 Empty The Sims 3

Hi there I'm new to this and am having trouble. I downloaded The Sims 3 Generations, however when I go to install it a screen pops up saying

"To install The Sims™ 3 Generations you must already have The Sims™ 3 installed. Select a volume where the The Sims3.app is already installed"

I'm not sure what this means but I tried going to pirate bay and downloading JUST The Sims 3. But I couldn't find the plain Sims 3 anywhere, only expansion packs or add ons. HELPPP

Or you can download "The Sims 3" (which we call the 'base game') from Games4TheWorld, here http://www.games4theworld.org/downloads.html

If you have difficulties finding it, press Ctrl + F, type "The Sims 3", and you should get to it then. Click on the magnet symbol on the left to open it with a torrent client.
