Can't open the launcher, and the game crashes unexpectedly

Hello! Okay, so I have a problem and it's been bugging me for a while now.
I have downloaded a lot of expansion packs from here, and they usually work fine, but I'm having trouble with the Island Paradise one. I know people have said that there is a new way to make it work, but I have no idea what it is.
When I copy and paste the two files ("TSW.exe" and the "TSLHost.dll") from the expansion to the base game, am I supposed to make two copies of it and keep the original, or replace it?
Another thing is my launcher. I click on it and it doesn't even open, it just says that it's not responding and closes. I can access the game by going into my files and clicking on the TSW.exe file, but it's kinda tedious to do.
Not only that, but during the game, I have to make sure to save every 10 minutes because it suddenly crashes on me without any notice, saying that it isn't responding.

I don't know if I'm just being dumb or not, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

First things first:

1) You are supposed to use the two files from the #crack folder in the Ultimate fix (NOT the #crack from the expansions !). Please re-read this here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

And whenever you copy the files from the Ultimate fix #crack, you should always replace both existing files.

2) Assuming that your computer is strong enough to handle the game, you can also read this here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-14-07-2013

If you want to use the "4GB patch" (step #3) then you should apply it to the TS3W.exe in the base game location (of course, after you applied the Ultimate fix). So open the 4GB patch and choose this TS3W.exe.

3) I'm not sure what you mean by "tedious to open the TS3W.exe", but you can/should create a shortcut to the desktop from that file (right-click on the TS3W.exe, choose "send to and then desktop-create shortcut)". If you have Windows Vista or later, you can also right-click on the TS3W.exe and choose "run as administrator".
