Service initialization failed (0x039e8474) [SOLVED]

I dont know what I did wrong, all I did:

2. Installed the base game
3. Installed the The Sims 3 Generations
4. Followed the The Sims 3 Update / Ultimate Fix- Mac Installation Guide - Steps 3 and 10-14





After clicking NO it says


I'm running this on MACBOOK PRO.. Please help me.. :/

i pasted the Crack from Generations folder here Contents/Resources/trangaming/c_Drive/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin/

You shouldn't just copy + paste, since it's an .exe file, which a Mac can't read.
Please read the included "# Installation Guide.txt" of this Fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems to get some inspiration on how to apply the crack.

Yeah, it's just a copy and paste job
If she used the sims base game from here, then it's not going to work, she's just going to get an initialisation error, like above.

so where should i download the basegame?

and i did what the Installation guide from the fix says.. as what i wrote on my first post.

Hi, I have the same problem, except the first message, I only have 0x039e8474.
I did it exactly as described in #installation guide.pdf. Installed Base game, TLS and Pets, applied the patch and crack.
When I finally almost manage to run the game I got "Service initialization failed (0x039e8474)"
What should I do with that?

You didn't install the base game from here where you have to link the two parts did you? Because if you did, there's your problem right there. You must download the base game from the links in this thread.

Also, make sue you're using the specific version of stuffit expander that I said to use. Let me know if you need any further help

Ok thanks, I will try it. I Installed Game4TheWorld version I found on G4TW section on the pirate bay. This one wasnt specified in the ultimate fix, so I thought I can use the one from G4TW torrent.
This is what I followed:

Then I downloaded Pets Expansion from here:

I used the specific version of stuffit expander.
I will try it now with the version of base game you provided. Thanks.
Just one thing, here you said to use stuffit expander, but the instructions in the link you provided say to use HJsplit. So which one I should use?

Oh, that's because the .dmg file is split into 5 parts so you need to bind the 5 parts back together to make the full .dmg file

So the Pets expansion I downloaded from torrent is the right one, which should work, right?

Yeah, the expansions from the g4tw torrents are fine, it's just the base game that doesn't work.

Downloaded all the parts with JDownloader, connected them using Split&Concat from hjsplit.org (I also tried other software to merge it) but when I try to mount the dmg it just says: "Can not open, reason: not recognized" What am I doing wrong?
EDIT: I also tried HJSplit Java.. still the same result

I think it's the way I split the files. (Using HJsplit)
It doesn't seem to work, really.
Perhaps we should make a video on how to create the .DMG file on Mac's, Dale?

I know how to make a DMG file. Using Disk Utility. So if there is perhaps a RAR version of the content from this Dale's DMG, i could download that and make the DMG myself..
