Installing "Into the Future"/opening .exe on a mac.

I recently downloaded the "Into The Future" expansion pack from the pirate bay. After download was complete, I unzipped the .rar file and tried to follow the included instructions but when asked to open the 'Sims3EP11Setup.exe' I run into an error because macs cannot open .exe files as they are made for windows. Does anyone know a way for me to get around this or change it so that I can properly open and install the expansion? Did I download the wrong version? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Regarding this issue, you have to convert the EP to a .dmg file. Please go to this post:

Download the mac guide and go to Part 2 which shows you how to do exactly that. Be sure to read the inatructions carefully! 

After that, follow Parts 3 and 4 to complete your installation.

I have already tried that. I converted both Into the Future and World Adventures into separate new images like it said to do. Once finished, I proceeded to click the installer for Into the Future in which case it told me it was broken and the only thing I could do is sent it to the trash. For world adventures, I clicked the installer and nothing happened. It won't open or begin installing. Nothing happens.

Did you use stuffit expander to extract the files?

Yes I did. I deleted the files and torrents from my computer and am currently using Pirate Bay to re-download them and go back thru the process. Hopefully it will work this time thru.

Just downloaded and installed Into the Future. I currently have the base game, high end stuff, late night, and supernatural installed. Do I still have to install the ultimate fix it patch thing? or will just the crack work since this is the latest EP?

That's great to know.

The Ultimate Fix is a MUST. Please do not use any of the crack files that come with the Expansion Packs.

Follow the Mac Install Guide exactly!

I got "Into the future" to work. I used the crack that came with it. I didn't see your post until after. The game is working fine though. Haven't used the ultimate fix yet. It is still downloading. Waiting on other EP's to download as well so I can install more.

Ok, but after you install the older EPs you MUST you the Ultimate Fix.. Otherwise your game will not run.

Thank you Dieneryn. I bought The base game, high end stuff, late night, and supernatural from Origin. Into the Future is running fabulously, and I cannot wait for these other Eps to download so I can install them as well.
