Into the future issues.

Hi,
i previously had a load of your games installed on my pc along with some sims games i had also brought, most recent one i was using from this site was island paradise which had been working fine, i downloaded the new Into the Future xpac and have been having some issues, first off the launcher kept telling me to insert a disc to play, but i managed to resolve that, now however i am getting a new error. Basically i press play and the cursor turns to the hourglass and it looks like its loading the game, screen goes black and then after some time i get this error message,
Unable to start game.
Service Initialization failed (0x039e8474)

Hello,
This error usually indicates there's a mod-issue. If you have mods, temporarily remove your mods folder from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and try your game again.

Ive retaken all the steps again, and ive also tried running without custom content and removed my downloads/mods folders from the game, and im still getting the same type of error when i try to run the game, any other things i can try?
