Game still asking for a disc

Hey guys.
I downloaded a lot of your Sims3 games a while ago and haven't had any problems with them, however, I've had to uninstall them so I can get some uni work done. I'm on holidays now and I'm trying to re-install them all. I've followed all the instructions, to the absolute letter but when I go to play the game it requests a disc for University Life (which obviously, I don't have.)

I've run the fix-it patch, and the manual patch, followed all those instructions but it STILL won't let me actually run the game. I've tried uninstalling Uni Life to see if that works but then it requests the disc for Seasons and so on.

It's really starting to **** me. Do you guys have any options?
What can I do?

Hello,

I think you're overlooking the crack. Please open the fix and find the #crack folder. Now copy both files from that folder to your base game\bin.
Since you've uninstalled UL, you may run into problems with the registry next. Please run a registrycleaner before attempting to reinstall it.

As I said, I followed the instructions to the letter, including the #crack.
I'll give the registry cleaner a go though. What does that do?

Hello,

It clean's up left-over registry entries from your uninstall. It's not going to help with the no-disc problem though. This is to prevent a service initialization error from occuring.

Are you quite sure you have the latest patch and the fix for the latest patch level? Have you ever used a no-cd mod? Would you mind showing us a screenshot of the folder you copied the crack to, with file details?

Hey,

If it's the latest patch downloaded from this site, then yes. Trust me. I've run it I think 5 separate times today.
Here's the image of the folder. Its the base game bin folder, taken from the link in the instructions. Would you be able to link me to a decent no cd mod?

I can now see the problem: You have copied the crack to wrong place.

The correct folder you should place the #crack is C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin (NOT Game\Bin\bin). Replace the files when prompted.
