Spikey Sims
Hey all,
I just downloaded the new ultimate fix for 1.63, I know I'm late getting to it haha, but my Sims are spikey.
When I get close to them they are fine but far away, as this picture shows, they turn all spikey. Any idea what's going on? Is it a glitch with the new patch or what?
Thanks,
Koolaid

Hello,
Apparently you have some mods or Custom Content that isn't compitable with the patch 1.63. Please remove all the mods and CC to see if they cause the problem.
Please let me know the result!

Hey,
Thanks for the quick reply. I've never downloaded custom content nor any mods. I have no idea how to even install them and have never been worth the hassle to figure it out lol:lol:

Hello,
Oh, I see. Then go to your documents file, go to Electronic Arts, The Sims 3. Now rename "The Sims 3" as "The Sims 3.old".
Now open the game again to see if it happens. Of course your save games won't be there but if everything works great then you can put your save files in new Sims 3 files.
Let me know the result please

Re: Spikey Sims
Looks like that did the trick
Thank you very much! I was worried when after it got done loading for a split second it went spike and then normal, but it all worked out great.
Thanks!
Can you explain to me what we did though? If you're not busy?
We just renamed the old one so that the game was forced to make itself a new folder?

Hello,
I am glad that it worked for you! Now if you want you can restore your save files to the new Sims 3 file and delete the old one
What we do is the thing you said, we forced game to generate new operating files which are essential for game and when it creates new file, it's like you installed your game very first time with brand new, bug and problem free files
You can use this trick whenever you have this problem or you install a new mod or CC that ruined your game. It's the safest and simple way to fix your game.
