Got this error message: To install The Sims™ 3 Town Life Stuff you must already have The Sims™ 3 installed. [SOLVED]

Got that error message for every expansion pack I tried to install... I have downloaded the game and all of the expansion packs through this site. I REALLY need assistance. Please help in any way!
I should also add, I've been following the sims 3 mac guide, step by step.

There are actually two Applications folders in the Mac that your base game could be. Did you try both to see if you chose the right one?

Thanks for the help Dieneryn! This fixed the same issue for me. Turns out for each individual install I had to select the correct applications folder.
