question about the sims 3 update/ ultimate fix

I already have a DVD copy of sims 3 Generations, do i need to download the release game from the games4theworld.org ? or is it okay if I use my DVD copy? i have installed my base game, and i have a problem on updating my game.. please reply, thank you

Since you've the DVD copy. You can give a try.

And make sure you apply the Ultimate fix. Which you can get the download link above guide.

Be sure you've Sims 3 Base game.
