Sims 3 HELP

Can someone tell me the WAY dumbed-down version of how to fix this :
"unable to connect to ea download manager" at sims 3 start
Also, my downloads from places like the sims resource **** are not being able to download b/c of this issue...
remember... dumb it way down for me... I am not computer literate...

Hello,
I've been getting the same error for the past few days and its really not a problem to play the game, though I can imagine its annoying if you want to use cc. Maybe the downloadmanager itself needs to be updated.

Just download the EADM/Origin and the error will disappear. Good luck!
