Re: New solution for Sims 3 without lag.
If anyone can experiment this and confirm this, I or any of my fellow helpers/moderators/administrators will move this to "The Sims (3) tips and tricks".
The problem is, you fail to state the problems (as you think) that can be possibly arisen by running the game on multiple CPUs.

Hi there,
Just want to add this will most likely not prevent lag. The best way is to close all unnecessary background processes.
I recommend that you use GameBooster. It'll do the job just fine: www.iobit.com/gamebooster.php

I don't think Gamebooster has a significant impact on the reduction of lag. At least it doesn't ease the lags that occurs in my pc. (even without Norton installed )
It is just my opinion though. Maybe it works fine for other people.

Lol, we all think something else.
GameBooster frees up resources that can then be used for the game. (Mainly effects low-end computers, I think)

Re: New solution for Sims 3 without lag.
Hello all,
From a more 'practical' point of view: no, I cannot confirm any advantage of multiple processors vs. single CPUs. The Sims 3 is running on my sister's laptop (single CPU) equally fine like on my dual CPU desktop machine. If your computer meets the requirements, there's no need for several CPUs.
What I do is to close all other open applications and then unnecessary background processes with the task manager. While the background processes don't seem to chew up THAT much of the power, I still think it's a good idea to do that (or maybe use a tool like Gamebooster to assist you with this).
I'm also running a 64-bit Windows 7, which allows me to use the "4 GB patch" or any other way of giving more RAM to applications and games. Therefore, my Sims 3 game can use all my RAM available, which is in my opinion much more important than having multiple CPUs (having a 64-bit system, in this sense, is a big advantage over 32-bit systems).
You might also want to disable your anti-virus software completely before playing; as the activity of these programs ("real-time file checking") can interfere with the game's performance.
Therefore, I will not move this to the "tips & tricks".
//EDIT
On a dual-core CPU with 2.93 GHz for each core, and currently 4 GB RAM, I'm running all The Sims 3 expansions and stuffpacks and all store items, with no lag whatsoever. I'm not even using GameBooster.
