'bin' folder help Empty 'bin' folder help

Post by Guest Sat 30 Jul 2011, 19:51

Okay, so I'm pretty sure I did everything correct, and when I went to do the fix at the very end where i put the crack in the base game bin folder, my computer said i don't have access to dropping and dragging the TSLHost.dll file. Like it won't let me put it in there. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong but if someone could help me, that would be fantastic.
Oh! And I have town life downloaded from here but it's not showing up and I installed it already.

Thank you in advance (:

Hello,

Could you please send a screenshot of the folder where you tried to copy the crack to?

Ok, back to business. You copied the files to the correct folder. Do you mind also taking a screenshot of the error?

'bin' folder help Empty Re: 'bin' folder help

..okay for some reason it just worked. Was I supposed to have some 'Origin' program installed? Because I installed that after I turned my computer on (I turned it off when I went to work) and the thing to allow and install it popped up so I installed it. Then when I went to take a screenshot of it my problem I had didn't even pop up, it just let both files go into the folder. Would not installing the 'origin' thing be the real problem of why it wouldn't work?

Hello,

The Origin thing is only needed when:

1. You want to apply some EA Mods.
2. When you want to update the game using the Ultimate Fix.

Besides, there's no harm in keeping it installed. Just turn off the option that makes it start up with Windows. There's no need to use it, nor to log in to it, but the game can connect to it silently.

'bin' folder help Empty Re: 'bin' folder help

Post by Guest Sun 31 Jul 2011, 23:57

okay, and another quick question (sorry! but I am very appreciative of you helping me), this: 'bin' folder help New_pi10
pops up after I push the play button on the launcher. After I push the button, the screen will go black for like ten seconds with the blue circle loading cursor (hopefully you understand my lack of knowlege of what the real name of this is!) and then it will minimize, go to my desktop and show this message. I normally push continue and resume my game playing, where nothing ever happens (game crashing or bugs). The only thing that happens is that I feel that my game is slow at times. Maybe it's just because I have all of the EPs and Stuff packs but WA and Fast Lane Stuff installed. Is this just a minor thing I shouldn't be concerned about, or is there something I have to do to get rid of it? I downloaded all of my EPs and Stuff packs from piratebay and all but like maybe two(?) from your site on piratebay. Thank you so so so much in advance, again. (:

The slow perforamance is natural and common.
I normally preffer to Install the base from G4TW, same goes with all other expansions.

I purchased the base game when it came out, so I have that in physical copy. I just downloaded everything else.

Hello,
That error you're getting is normal and doesn't affect your game.
What you can try to improve performance, is lowering your visual settings and/or playing the game in windowed mode. That is working wonders for me and my low-end pc. The only downside is that edge scrolling doesn't work in windowed mode but that is something you get used to.
