LAGGING

Hi I'm not sure if this is the right place. But I've tried installing the sims 3 base game and a majority of the expansions and stuff packs and I've found there is significant lag in loading screen and game play. (like 15 mins waiting times for loading)
I thought it my be my laptop (a bit older, low memory and i5) but when i installed sims 3 onto my new laptop (i7,8gb ram, 128gb ssd, windows 8 ) i experienced the same problem. I don't really know my computer software/hardware stuff and was hoping someone could help me find a solution? eg) mod, graphics card alterations etc

*the base game itself also lags a bit, but lag increases with expansions.
*i have no current mods installed

Hello,

Do you happen to know whether your Windows is a 64-bit or a 32-bit system ? Have another look at this other topic here and re-do all steps: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-7-01-2014

If your Windows is a 64-bit version AND if your computer has 4 GB of RAM or more, then focus on step #3 in particular. Download the "4 GB patch" from here.

After downloading, double-click on that 4 GB patch and in the next prompt, choose the TS3W.exe in your base game location. Usually, that's C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. Wait for the message "executable successfully patched" and close the 4 GB patch.

If you apply the "4 GB patch" the way I described, you should normally notice a huge difference in-game. Please let me know the result !
